More Apprenticeship places needed
Employers are failing to provide enough Apprenticeship places for learners eager for an alternative to university, warns union TUC.
According to Scarlet Harris, the TUC's Apprenticeships policy & campaign officer, not enough companies are following the lead of BT, which is extend on-the-job training schemes after receiving 24,000 applications for the 221 places currently available.
"More large employers should follow BT's example and consider expanding their Apprenticeship schemes," said Ms Harris.
